On our first night in Iceland, we huddled around a pot of Taiwanese instant noodles. The next morning, my friends left for their road trip. I stayed behind in Reykjavík alone — no fixed itinerary, no map, just a freshly downloaded Tinder app and an Icelandic guy who offered to show me places most tourists never find. This episode: the comfort of instant noodles far from home, the freedom of solo travel, and that particular feeling of opening a door without knowing what's on the other side.
