With Crufts just three days away, we’re so excited to be chatting to Naturaw’s Founder, Jess Warneken, on the company’s sponsorship of the Flyball team, Junkyard Dogs. Competing at this year’s most prestigious global canine event, we’re also joined by the team captain, Cheryl Quinn, who discusses why the pressure is on! She explains the training involved - and that’s not just for the dogs - and why it’s such a community driven sport and highly competitive. Teaching the dogs to remain focused, takes time and commitment with weekly training sessions. Cheryl believes any dog can enjoy Flyball, but at a high competition level, the dogs are chosen for their commitment to their team spirit, and for their individual skills. Some have more speed to gain time, whilst others have others combine speed with accuracy that’s needed to prevent any faults. Every Flyball team must incorporate at least one pure bred dog , which in Junkyard’s case is a Border Collie, others can be any cross breed, with Lurchers being firm favourites.
