About this episode
The episode discusses the significance and strategies of Russian anti-war activism in emigration, highlighting the importance of grassroots movements against the Putin regime.
Who needs Russian grassroots activism abroad? What use is there from it and what is its meaning? “Your actions don’t influence anything” is a common statement not only from the mouthpieces of Russian propaganda, but also, unfortunately, among Russian civil society. In this presentation and discussion in Father Frost against Putin 2026 -festival 10th of January, the following topics and aspects of Russian activism in forced emigration were discussed: Establishing bridges of solidarity with European civil society and activist movements. “Synchronization” with activists remaining in Russia. Going beyond the emigrant / diasporic bubble. Support of Ukrainian initiatives. Struggle withpro-Russian propaganda. Opposition to anti-gender initiatives and the ultra-right allies of Putin in Europeand other countries. Russian fossil fuel and Western eco- activism. European left "anti-militarism" against Ukraine and peacewashing. Speaker: Lölja Nordic…
