About this episode

This episode reflects on the story of Mary and Martha from John 11, exploring themes of waiting, hope, and resurrection.

What do you do when God feels late? In this powerful reflection on John 11, we step into the story of Mary and Martha—waiting, hoping, and ultimately grieving when Jesus does not arrive in time. We know this place. The place where prayers seem unanswered, where something we love has died, where hope feels sealed behind a stone. But Jesus does not stay away forever. Standing at the edge of the tomb, he calls the impossible back to life: “Lazarus, come out.” And what was buried begins to move. This message invites us to name what we’ve given up on, to risk rolling the stone away, and to hear Jesus still calling us—by name—out of fear, despair, and everything that has held us bound. Because the fourth day is not the end. The grave does not get the last word. Jesus does.
