What do you do when life feels like an off-ramp—when the promises you trusted seem delayed, hope has run dry, and you begin to wonder whether God has forgotten you? In this sermon on Isaiah 55:10–13, we journey with Israel in exile and discover that God's presence is not confined to the places we expect. Just as rain quietly nourishes the earth long before new life appears, God's Word is already at work beneath the surface of our lives, accomplishing God's purposes even when we cannot yet see the results. Through the moving story of a stranded mama duck and the strangers who stopped to help, we are reminded that God's promises do not return empty. The living Word still creates hope, awakens compassion, transforms suffering, and leads God's people from exile into joy.
