In 1998, Majed El Shafie was arrested for leading a network of underground churches in Egypt. He was taken to one of the country’s most notorious prisons, and endured 7 days of brutal torture. Sentenced to death shortly after, he was able to escape a few hours before it was carried out. Today, he shares what his experience was like and explains how God helped him survive the impossible. Majed said that he was shocked by the persecution in his last year of law school. He meant in the first. He entered law school early at 17, studied the Bible for a year, and became a Christian at 18. Over the next 3 years, they built up the underground organization, and in 1998, when he was 21, he was arrested.
