Chapter 8 is exactly what it sounds like — our lovable Frenchman opens his mouth at precisely the wrong moment, and Fix is there to make the most of it. Then Chapter 9 gives us some breathing room as Fogg and company cross the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, the kind of passage that should be uneventful but somehow never quite is when Fix is lurking around.
