About this episode

This episode features a discussion about iconic TV detectives and the new wave of fake detectives with guest Siobhan Thompson.

Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Adrien Monk, Jake Peralta. Detectives such as these have carved out a special place in TV that transcends genre, tone, and geography but are knit together by their main character’s raw detecting skills alone. Now a new era of fake detectives are ready to steal the spotlight and take Hollywood by storm, so this week we sat down with 5 of these trailblazers. We heard all about their shows, their approach to detecting, their sidekicks, and the drama behind the scenes that is juicier than anything you could write. So grab your chalk, outline your favorite watching buddy, and listen in! This week's guest is the inimitable writer and performer Siobhan Thompson.
