Happy Birthday In London, (I Nearly Forgot) Hey, I’m Barrie J Davies, a Welsh street pop surrealist living in Brighton, UK, where I spend my days making colourful nonsense, annoying perfectly innocent canvases and accidentally releasing paint goblins into the local ecosystem. I make art for a living, which sounds terribly sophisticated until you realise my studio contains approximately 47 things that absolutely should not be covered in paint but somehow are. Welcome to my daily podcast, now with over 4295 episodes of art, creativity, bizarre adventures, questionable decisions and whatever falls out of my brain before the tiny health-and-safety inspector living in my left ear can catch it with a butterfly net. There are no guests, no experts, no serious art lectures and absolutely no soothing whale noises. It is just me, a microphone and the artistic equivalent of putting a shopping trolley full of spray paint, rubber chickens, inflatable bananas and existential biscuits at the top of a hill and giving it a tiny push. Then we see what happens. I spend my days making paintings, prints, sculptures, exhibitions and strange little creatures that look like they have mortgages…
