About this episode

The episode celebrates the music and gameplay of the RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, highlighting its influences and achievements.

We're not quite sure where Joshua found the beret, baguette, and striped shirt he wore in... But today he's also brought us Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to listen to while celebrating his birthday this week. 2025's Game of the Year for many, this RPG is the studio debut for French developer Sandfall Interactive, published in partnership by Kepler Interactive, with music composed by Lorien Testard and Alice Duport-Percier. Expedition 33 wears its love for Japanese RPGs like Final Fantasy and Lost Odyssey on it's sleeve while reinventing what it means to be a turn-based RPG with incredibly satisfying combat. Taking place in an wildly surreal world with a well-written cast of rich characters, set to some of the most hauntingly beautiful music heard in gaming for years... This game will leave you with a story that will stay with you for a lifetime. There's very good reason why so many celebrated it in 2025 as their GotY, and now we're here to share and celebrate it's music with you. (Host's note: Joshua did not properly credit Victor Borba as the male vocalist in Une vie a t'aimer. None of his sources at the time mentioned him. Aplogies.) Join the BBB Discord @…
