Jacob argues fiat strains relationships in the church by amplifying power imbalances, shaping decisions, and indirectly influencing people, even calling the church’s complicity in fiat a form of sin because money printing dilutes labor and “steals” time. We explore money as embodied ideas, unjust scales, and how fear of losing dollars can become an idol that harms stewardship.
