Bias was an All-American star at the University of Maryland who died of a fatal cocaine overdose on June 19, 1986, just two days after being drafted to Boston. Reggie Lewis, the captain of the Celtics, tragically died of sudden cardiac death on July 27, 1993, during an off-season practice at Brandeis University.
