About this episode

Evan Marinofsky discusses the Bruins' center situation and the implications of the upcoming 2026 NHL free agency class.

On this episode of Bruins Beat, Evan Marinofsky goes solo to break down one of the most debated questions heading into next season — who are the Bruins' top two centers, and should Elias Lindholm even be one of them? Evan makes the case for a shake-up, arguing the Lindholm-Pastrnak pairing just isn't working and that Pavel Zhaka and Matt Poitras deserve bigger roles down the middle. Then he pivots to the 2026 free agent class — is it actually worth saving cap space for, or is building through free agency a relic of the past? Jason Robertson is the name to watch. And to close it out, Evan digs up a wild 2021 trade proposal that would have sent Sidney Crosby to Boston — and honestly, it's hard not to wonder what could have been. 0:00 – Intro 1:33 – State of the Bruins: what needs to change 3:09 – Line combinations & top six forward debate 5:10 – Lindholm, Pastrnak, Zacha & the center situation 9:27 – Expectations for the young core this season 10:35 – PrizePicks 11:53 – 2026 free agency class: is it worth waiting for? 14:38 – Why you can't build through free agency anymore 18:39 – What if the Bruins had traded for Sidney Crosby in 2021? 22:37 – Outro Bruins on CLNS Media is Powered…
