A jury found Karmelo Anthony guilty of murder in a high-profile case, while U.S. Central Command initiated strikes on Iran amid ongoing discussions about its nuclear program.
A Collin County jury found Karmelo Anthony guilty of murder in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a Frisco ISD track meet, bringing an end to a closely watched trial that drew national attention and sparked debate over self-defense, race and school safety. U.S. Central Command said Tuesday evening that it began "self-defense strikes" on Iran in response to the downing of a U.S. Apache helicopter on Monday. Vice President JD Vance said the U.S. is "very close" to reaching a deal that would address Iran's nuclear program "for the long term," but that it could come next week or months from now.
