This episode discusses the importance of communication in our relationship with God and how it enables us to work together in His Kingdom.
Communication is how we share work with others. Without communication, one person takes too much of the load. But with communication, people can do more together than they could do on their own. So Jesus instructs us to “ask, seek, and knock,” for what we need, and the Lord will be happy to give it to us. Because if we have become “co-workers” with God, people who are joining God in His Kingdom work, then why won’t He give us all the power we need to do what He’s asked us to do? But this is not a mechanical principle about how we can get God to do what we want. It’s all principled upon Jesus’ teaching that if we ask “in HIS name” or if “we abide with Him”, He will give us what we ask. But if we are friends with God, then we can ask with “shameless audacity”, because if we are asking in His name and His will - we can expect an answer. If we don’t receive what we ask for, then we should ask - am I truly abiding in His will and are His words abiding in me? This too is an invitation to deeper relationship.
