About this episode

Amar’e Stoudemire discusses his journey to NBA superstardom and Hall of Fame induction with Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.

Amar’e Stoudemire joins The Cousins for a wide-ranging conversation about his journey from Florida to NBA superstardom and the Hall of Fame. Amar’e breaks down how Tracy McGrady inspired him growing up, making the jump straight from high school to the NBA, battling through the golden era of power forwards, and becoming a cornerstone of the Phoenix Suns’ legendary “7 Seconds or Less” offense. He also looks back at signing with the New York Knicks, the Suns’ heated 2007 playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs, his famous wine baths, and what it meant to have T-Mac present him at his Hall of Fame enshrinement. Before Amar’e joins the show, The Cousins discuss Anthony Davis and the Washington Wizards, and whether people are sleeping on Washington.   00:00 Intro 01:45 Anthony Davis Gives the Wizards an Ultimatum 05:44 Are We Sleeping on the Wizards? 07:28 FanDuel “Pick a Side” 14:01 Hall of Famer Amar’e Stoudemire Joins The Cousins 17:11 Growing Up in Florida & Being Inspired by T-Mac 21:56 Making the Jump From High School to the NBA 25:54 Competing in the Golden Era of Power Forwards 29:07 Amar’e’s Passion for Basketball 31:00 Inside the Suns’ “7 Seconds or Less”…
