For the 102nd episode of Creative Mood, I’m thrilled to unveil my conversation with Emmy Award–winning composer Cristobal Tapia De Veer, recorded live at M for Montreal’s 20th anniversary, presented in collaboration with Billboard Canada, within the framework of SuperVISION. I had the honour of co-hosting this live conversation alongside Heather Adamo of Vapor Music, in front of a packed room of industry professionals from around the world.Cristóbal’s work on The White Lotus, Utopia, Black Mirror, Babylon Berlin and National Treasure treats music as an integral part of the storytelling, not just a background element. In this conversation, we retrace his early life, from his childhood and his parents’ work, to how those influences shaped his worldview growing up in Chile. We explore his first steps into music through various bands, his early fascination with evolving technologies, and how those tools expanded his creative language.
