In Part 2 of The Vertical Plane, Ken and Debbie delve deeper into a mysterious case involving a historical figure and strange occurrences.

Ken and Debbie thought they were talking to a man from the 1500s through a BBC microcomputer, but in Part 2, the case gets much stranger. The mysterious force known as 2109 steps back into the story, claiming it can block, alter, and guide messages, while the man they knew as Lucas begins to look more and more like a real historical figure named Thomas Harden. As investigators arrive, strange tests are attempted, physical activity inside the cottage escalates, and the story ends with one final claim: somewhere near Oxford, there may be a hidden book that could prove the impossible conversation really happened.
