About this episode
The episode discusses how Christ creates one global people for Himself through the gospel, as outlined in Ephesians 2:11-22.
Ephesians 2:11-22 Because Christ is the head of His church, we cannot build His church our way. This is why we must stand on Christ first and foremost. Last week we did that by noticing Jesus is supreme in everything. And this supreme Savior we have owns His church. But a faithful, Christ-grounded church does not stop there. Once we establish who owns the church, we must also ask—“Who belongs to the church?” Or to ask another way, “Who are Christ’s people? What defines them?” This is where Ephesians 2:11-22 shines bright because here Jesus effectively says—“These are my people!” They are a gospel-created people. They are one through the cross. And they are a global people gathered from every nation, tribe, and tongue. On this we must stand if the next 20 years at Delta are going to matter. Main Idea—Through the gospel, Christ creates one global people for Himself.
