Colorado’s golf community is investing in the next generation by fully funding caddie pay—$60 base plus $30 tip—for young talent through the Solich Caddie & Leadership Academy. Since 2012, the program has exploded in popularity, hitting 166 caddies this year and aiming for 1,500 rounds—up from just 900 in 2024. More than just bag-carrying, caddies learn course fundamentals, progress from short holes to full rounds, and gain leadership skills, field trips, and a direct path to the prestigious Evans Scholarship. With funding from the Colorado Golf Foundation and the Solich brothers’ seed money, this initiative is turning caddying into a launchpad for future golf pros—and former scholarship winner Jaxon Grunewald now leads the program himself.
