Ezra Gwilliam grew up in the small logging community of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, Canada. He served as a full-time missionary in the California Roseville Mission from 2002-2004. Brother Gwilliam earned a bachelor’s degree from BYU-Idaho, followed by a master’s degree in literacy and a doctoral degree in education from Boise State University. Before joining the BYU-Idaho religious education faculty in 2018, he spent ten years teaching seminary and institute in the Boise, Idaho area. Brother Gwilliam has served in numerous Church callings, including elder’s quorum president, priest quorum advisor, gospel doctrine teacher, counselor in a bishopric, and bishop. He currently serves on the high council. Ezra Gwilliam married Lindsey Ward in July 2005. Together they have five children. He loves the Holy Land, sports, teaching, hiking, trail running, and spending time with his family.
