Ep. 98: The Aldgate Death Pump
From Disaster Hour by Ian Terbovich and Olivia Scarano
February 6, 2026 · 53 min · Season 9 · Episode 7
About this episode
Ian and Liv discuss the public health crisis caused by a contaminated water pump in 1800s London.
Water cleanliness and proper sanitation are non-negotiables. In this one, Ian and Liv take it back to the 1800s, where a public water pump was a vessel of disease for the working class folks of London. Cholera, typhoid fever, dysentery, and a myriad of other bacterial diseases were spreading like wild fire, and it wouldn't be a true 1800's nightmare without the Men in Charge of All the Things (London Chapter) denying the claims of the scientists. Also, Liv starts a new band. Ian begins panicking over moving in two weeks.
