So it was exactly six years ago this month that primary SOS host Rudy Fischmann started work on an ill-advised project— a rock opera. It was ill-advised because Rudy is actually living with brain cancer, and lacks enough left hand coordination to actually play any instruments traditionally, nor the energy. Still, he’s managed to pull it off with the help of 60 other people from 12 nations around the globe. It may not be major musical history, but it’s an absolute first of its kind. So minor music history? The whole thing serves as a fundraiser for two great cancer charities… both very closely associated with rock opera kings The Who. We’re talking about Teen Cancer America and the Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK.
