This story is said to be the greatest (and possibly oldest) epic poem written down in the English language - though it's an English we wouldn't recognise today. The Beowulf manuscript is kept at the British Library and you can find out more about it HERE. WARNING - The monsters in the story are quite scary and the story is a bit creepy and gory.
