
State Rep. David Tyson Smith discusses the implications of new speed limit legislation in Missouri amidst ongoing construction.
Missouri's governor has signed legislation from State Sen. Jamie Burger (R-Benton) into law that allows speed limits to be raised to 75 mph on some rural highways. State Rep. David Tyson Smith (D-Columbia) is not opposed to the idea but is concerned with the timing. He tells 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri" that Missouri currently has more than 1,000 construction zones on highways and roads and says this should have waited another year or two.
