Mothers who remain in strained or disempowering partnerships for the sake of family, women who appease partners at the cost of their own desires, those who shrink their needs in birth rooms or bend to medical authority, and the devastating toll of rejecting our bodies through bounce-back culture and cosmetic surgery. We also name the shadow dynamics that arise in love and intimacy. Too often, women deny their deepest desires for fear of losing love, saying “yes” to open relationships they don’t truly want, or avoiding difficult truths to protect their partner’s feelings. To advocate for your needs in relationship is an act of courage - to be willing to risk rupture, to stand on your own two feet, and to truly see the mirror your partner holds up for you rather than victimising yourself in the process.
