According to archaeologists and many Bible scholars, one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the past 50 years was made on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee at the site called Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene. During a dig, they unearthed a 1st century synagogue and at the center was this massive stone with intricate carvings engraved into it.
