Good afternoon, I'm _____ with today's episode of EZ News. Tai-Ex opening The Tai-Ex opened down 84-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 39,531 on turnover of 24-billion N-T. The market closed nearly 2-per cent higher on Monday, despite pulling back after topping the 40,000-point mark for the first time in history. New CEC chair outlines agency's key priorities The newly appointed chair of the Central Election Commission has been sworn-in. Speaking at a handover ceremony, Michael You thanked President Lai Ching-te and Premier Cho Jung-tai for their support and he pledged to lead the commission as a neutral, fair, objective (客觀的) and professional body. You also outlined the agency's key priorities - those being upcoming elections, referendum procedures, absentee voting (缺席投票) and the political rights of naturalized Chinese spouses. You was a member of the D-P-P before leaving the party in 2019 and previously served as the chairman of the Taiwan Public Opinion Foundation.
