Fr. Edward Looney shares a homily about the spiritual lessons learned from his failed tomato garden.
In this homily, I share the story of my failed tomato garden and the surprising spiritual lesson it taught me. Just as tomato plants need healthy soil, proper nourishment, and consistent watering to bear good fruit, our souls need the Word of God, faithful prayer, and time with the Lord. When our lives become oversaturated with distractions or spiritually dry through neglect, our faith can begin to wither. Jesus, the Master Gardener, shows us how to cultivate the soil of our hearts so that our lives may bear lasting fruit.
