In today’s message, we explore the powerful truth that Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection were not accidental—they were the fulfillment of God’s covenant plan from the very beginning. Starting in Luke 18:31–34, Jesus tells His disciples exactly what will happen to Him in Jerusalem. Every detail—His betrayal, mocking, scourging, crucifixion, and resurrection—was foretold centuries earlier in scriptures like Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53. Yet even His closest followers struggled to understand. They expected a warrior king to defeat Rome—but Jesus came as the Lamb of God to defeat sin, death, and Satan.
