Douglas Anthony Chamberlain, CBE, OStJ, KSG was a British cardiologist who founded the first paramedics in the United Kingdom which at the time was the paramedic unit in Europe, revolutionising pre-hospital care. We wanted to take a moment to reflect on the story of the man who founded the profession and career that we love. His story is written and narrated by Nat Le Blanq a paramedic and visiting fellow at Bournemouth University.
