158-In Part 2 of Genesis to Revelation looks at one of the most important and misunderstood themes in all of Scripture: covenant. Many people have approached the Bible through a view of negotiating with God, believing relationship with God is built on good behavior, rules, and earning acceptance. But what if covenant reveals something entirely different? In this episode, we break down covenant in simple and relatable terms by contrasting covenant versus contract. While contracts are built on conditions and exchange, covenant is rooted in relationship. This changes the way we see God’s intent toward mankind from the very beginning. As we revisit Genesis through the view of covenant, a larger story begins to unfold. Not a story centered on distance and separation, but one revealing a God continually moving toward humanity in relationship. This episode lays the foundation for the rest of the series by introducing the idea that Scripture may be telling a covenant story from Genesis to Revelation. This framework changes everything. Once covenant becomes the lens, the Bible begins to read as one story of union with God and His people, not disconnected stories of characters in the Bible.
