Debi retired after 20-plus years of deployments and rebuilding her life from scratch when she realized she had no idea who she was outside of her titles. Renee built a 32-year military career and then transitioned into civilian leadership without skipping a beat. Today they work side by side on committees that pull junior enlisted women up the ranks. What makes their partnership remarkable isn't that they figured out how to tolerate their differences—it's that they figured out they need their differences.
