In February 1959, nine experienced Soviet hikers set out across the frozen Ural Mountains...and never came back. Searchers found their tent slashed open from the inside, footprints walking calmly into lethal cold, and bodies with catastrophic internal injuries that left no marks on the skin. Nearly seventy years later, the case remains officially unsolved, with theories ranging from a slab avalanche and Cold War weapons testing to espionage and forces the investigators themselves couldn't name.
