One of the things that I have wanted to do for a while now was to provide a wider context of the world we have been exploring on this show. So, I teamed up with my friend James Cassese who has researched and written these episodes to help us understand what was happening in the broader European and Mediterranean world while Portugal was emerging as an independent kingdom.
