Rod Martin and Dr. Kieran McCarthy discuss their parallel paths from schoolmates to co-founders of GO2 Health, focusing on veteran care.
In November, Home Base was thrilled to welcome Australian veteran health colleagues to Home Base – GO2/REFORGE co-founders, Rod Martin and Dr. Kieran McCarthy. Rod and Kieran were mates at age 16 in school, and you’ll hear how they went on to parallel paths - rejoining years later as workmates. After medical school Kieran joined the Army, a Medical Officer in the 2nd Commando Regiment. He worked with Special Operator Forces, caring for some of the most elite and wounded soldiers. Rod became a karate master, earning the 7th Dan Black Belt in Gojuryu (Go-Joo-Roo) Karate. Transitioning from the elite athlete world, he took on a new passion - Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. Rod and Kieran were the perfect match to develop GO2 Health in 2016– offering interdisciplinary care for all, just like the pro athletes receive, with specific focus on Australian veterans.
