About this episode
Brandon Gentile discusses his journey to Bitcoin and its implications on understanding the world.
In this episode of Hosting Bitcoin, Brandon Gentile, Bitcoin Educator, Podcast Host, joins Beau Turner, CEO & Co-Founder, Abundant Mines for a conversation that goes far beyond price, markets, or investing. Brandon’s path to Bitcoin wasn’t typical. He grew up playing hockey in Michigan, eventually going pro, where he learned discipline, accountability, and real-world consequences early on. But everything changed during the 2008 financial crisis. Watching bailouts unfold shattered his belief in the system and sent him down a rabbit hole into money, history, and how the world actually works. He spent years building a real estate business, finding deals, raising capital, managing properties, only to realize the system required massive effort just to stay ahead. Then Bitcoin clicked. What started as an investment became something much deeper: a new lens for understanding the world.
