Billy Hanna explores the contrast between worldly love and the radical love Jesus calls us to practice.
Billy Hanna confronts our assumptions about love, showing that the love we naturally practise is far different from the radical love Jesus calls us to display. Billy Hanna explores Jesus’ teaching about two very different ways to love. We see how the world’s love is transactional — given only when something is received in return — while the love Jesus calls us to practise is outward-focused, active, and even extended to our enemies. As we reflect on our relationships, we are reminded that such costly love is only possible when we first grasp the depth of God’s mercy toward us in Christ. When we truly know we have been loved while still undeserving, we are freed to overflow with that same mercy, loving others not for what we gain, but because we have already received everything from God. Recorded at the Hukanui Bible Church morning service on Sunday the 15th of March 2026 during the 10:00 am service.
