Mike Felker of Convictions is back on Ian’s Untitled Scene Sho w , and this one is a little different than usual. Instead of the studio, this episode was recorded live in my car outside Come and Take It Live in Austin right before their show with Wolves At The Gate, which made the whole conversation feel much more in-the-moment and exactly the kind of thing this podcast was made for (with minimal sound issues). Mike and I catch up on everything that’s happened since the last time he was on the show, going even farther back than the I Won’t Survive era when Convictions had just gone independent after their time on InVogue, and how things have changed now that the band is touring behind The Fear of God. We talk about what life is really like as a DIY band in 2026, balancing touring, teaching vocals, songwriting work, and all the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes into keeping a band alive when you’re not relying on a label to do it for you.
