What follows is the full account of an emergency room visit that escalated from "please go now" to a wide-awake colonoscopy in about ninety minutes, complete with a doctor who looked like he had been on Love Island, a nurse who played Chappell Roan so she could dissociate, and the “something beautiful” that came from it.
