Steve Timoney is a Scottish businessman who started as a gas engineer and used his expertise to found Smart Metering Systems in 1995. In 2023 he sold this company for £1.3B, and has moved onto other ventures, including transforming Crossbasket Castle into a world class hotel, and investing in the Caledonia Gladiators bassketball team.
