About this episode

The episode explores the phenomenon of Odd Radio Circles and their potential implications in astrophysics.

What are Odd Radio Circles? Are Odd Radio Circles Wormholes? An Odd radio circle (ORC) is a very large unexplained astronomical object that, at radio wavelengths, is highly circular and brighter along its edges. So far there have been four odd radio circles found. Ray Norris is an astrophysicist and science communicator, based at the CSIRO Australia Telescope National Facility, and Western Sydney University. Prof. Norris conducts research in astrophysics and Aboriginal Astronomy. Recently, his team member, astronomer Anna Kapinska discovered Odd Radio Circles, during a Pilot Survey of the Evolutionary Map of the Universe while using the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) radio telescope array.Graven Images by Ray P.
