About this episode
This episode discusses the safety of IV contrast doses for CT scans and the benefits of a rapid rule-out pathway for cardiac events using high-sensitivity troponin levels.

Monday’s Spoon Feed : IV contrast doses used for CT scans appear to fall below the toxic threshold for nephrotoxicity, with no convincing evidence they cause acute kidney injury (AKI) in most patients. Tuesday’s Spoon Feed : This Australian study found patients who were eligible for rapid rule out based on a single high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) ≤2 ng/L pathway had shorter hospital length of stay (LOS) and no increase in index or 30-day cardiac events.
