About this episode

This episode discusses the historical and spiritual significance of America's foundations in light of current societal shaking.

America was born in a moment of shaking. On May 17, 1776, before independence was declared, the Continental Congress called the nation to humiliation, fasting, repentance, and prayer — asking God to establish America upon “a solid and lasting foundation.” Now, 250 years later, we again find ourselves in a time of shaking: political shaking | moral shaking | cultural shaking | spiritual shaking. Hebrews 12 reminds us that God allows shaking so that what cannot be shaken may remain. When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? Like Nehemiah — rebuild the wall. Like Ezekiel — stand watch on the wall. Like Esther — intercede in the gap of the wall. Like Daniel — discern the writing on the wall. This Signs of the Times message explores America’s foundations, the dangers of false foundations, and the unshakable Kingdom of Christ.
