Send us Fan Mail On the night of January 28th, 1716, Dunning was burning. As Jacobite troops from the Earl of Mar’s army retreated through Strathearn, they set fire to villages along the way. Thirty-three families lost their homes, and at least three villagers died in the bitter cold that followed.
