About this episode

Jobey McGinty discusses the importance of mercy and discernment in the context of judgment as taught in Luke 6:37-38.

Luke: To the Least, the Last, & the Lost - Luke 6:37-38 Jobey McGinty We can be quick to notice the faults in those around us...even those closest to us. We replay their failures, question their motives, and quietly place ourselves above them. But Jesus exposes something deeper in Luke 6:37-38. A judgmental spirit often reveals a heart that has forgotten mercy. This passage is not a command to abandon truth or pretend sin doesn’t matter. In fact, Jesus calls His people to honest discernment without self-righteousness. But, through the gospel, we are able to see our own sin clearly and remember the forgiveness we’ve received through Christ. In doing so, pride begins to loosen its grip, forgiveness becomes possible, fenerosity grows, and grace changes how we see people.
