Luke Allen reflects on the creator of the Taco Bell Dorito taco shell, the failure of the Supergirl movie, and his experiences over the July 4th weekend in California.
I both celebrate and ruminate about the man responsible for bringing us the Taco Bell Dorito hard shell taco shell. What was his journey like? What sorts of obstacles and challenges did he face to bring us this modern miracle? I also celebrate and ruminate about the resounding and moderately fascinating abject failure of the Supergirl movie, and how no one will learn a single thing from it. You celebrated the 250 th anniversary, I but observed a 6 th anniversary. I then regale you with tales of my wild July 4 th weekend, cavorting with famous(ish) comedians but witnessing a fresh outrage in the Los Angeles comedy scene: the rise and spread of "hot chick comedy." I spent July 4 th in 1988 California, and the rest of the weekend traveling down California's inimitable coastline, while realizing how profoundly liberals have denigrated this beautiful state.
