About this episode

The episode discusses Morgan Rielly's future with the Maple Leafs and a controversial U23 prospect ranking that has sparked debate.

Morgan Rielly's future in Toronto is becoming clearer — while a controversial prospect ranking has the Maple Leafs' young talent sparking debate. Mike DiStefano and Dave Morassutti break down Morgan Rielly's latest comments about his future with the Maple Leafs, with Dave sharing what he heard firsthand at the Hockey Night in Brampton event. Rielly indicated that he expects to be part of the Maple Leafs moving forward, but what does that mean for the trade speculation that followed him throughout the offseason? The guys discuss his conversation with John Chayka, why Rielly could get a fresh start under Jim Hiller and whether 2026-27 could be a make-or-break season for the veteran defenceman. Then, the conversation turns to Corey Pronman's controversial U23 prospect rankings. Why was Gavin McKenna ranked where he was and why did Easton Cowan fall far down the list. And how did one of the top young players fail to make the top 156 entirely? Mike and Dave then reveal their own Top 5 Maple Leafs U23 prospects; what do you think of their list? Was anyone left off?
