The NFL offseason has featured some shaky performances that include drama, legal issues, talent loss and questionable coaching hires. At the top of that list has to be the Detroit Lions who have had a combination of all of those things and it sets up a falloff in 2026. This conversation has to include the New England Patriots as Mike Vrabel's off-field issues have dominated the headlines, but considering the timing, it is hard to see this impacting the games in a few months. The San Francisco 49ers are still dealing with their drama as the Brandon Aiyuk saga continues. San Francisco needs to do the smart thing and eliminate this monster distraction. In the Big Apple, the New York Giants have been making a lot of noise and causing a lot of drama. It could prevent the John Harbaugh experience from starting on a positive note. Not every shaky offseason includes drama though as the Indianapolis Colts aren't causing buzz, but their talent loss and owner looming make things feel more tense than they seem.
