There is no path to success for a politician, the successful ones merely do not fail as bad as the rest but if you look at their career and the aftermath it will gradually become more obvious, especially with the passage of time, just how little they accomplished and how much negative results flowed from the policies they enacted. To write a positive history of a politician requires a lot of empathy and imaginative writing.
